Bellsprout, the Flower Pokémon
“Bellsprout are a fascinating plant Pokémon. Still believed by many to be a species branching from the mandrake plant, a Bellsprout’s body is made up of a vase-shaped head and a torso and limbs created from roots branching off a single, thin stem. The roots that make their feet can still grow, digging into the ground to absorb nutrients in the soil to replenish energy in between meals, though this does put the Pokémon in a vulnerable position to be attacked. Despite this and their small, lanky stature, Bellsprout are actually quite nimble, quick on their feet and in diverting their bodies around attacks of other Pokémon.”
“Inside the mouth of the Bellsprout is a destructive toxin. Most often, they only use this to dissolve their food, trapping them in the vines and roots their bodies can grow and corroding them in their mouths to fit. But they can use this poison offensively, spitting it from their mouth to melt even through steel; not Steel-type Pokémon, to clarify, only inanimate metals like tools or pipes. Be wary in approaching one, as Bellsprout have been known to lash out at anything unknown getting too close, and to be caught in its vines could lead to finding a place in its body.”
