Masquerade
No one seems to care where the voice comes from
Only that it affirms
They heed not the hand nor wonder where it’s been
Only that it servesIf the hand that feeds becomes a spoon
The mouth won’t argue so long as it has something to chew
They won’t pay attention until it becomes a knife
And then act surprised it changed at allThere is no celebration
This is no party
People are freely wearing their masks in public
And the gullible don’t care
Ditto, the Transform Pokémon

“Unlike the Zorua species that casts an illusion to represent another Pokémon or person where they stand, Ditto actually transform their bodies to mirror those right in front of them. They can change their own cellular structure to take the form of whatever or whoever stands in front of them; simply visually processing what is before their eyes gives them the knowledge on how to rewrite their genetic code to perfectly match something. They can copy Pokémon in battle and use the same moves they know; they can copy inanimate objects and their texture up to a certain size limit, often sleeping as a rock to protect themselves while unconscious; and they can take the form of humans, though they are unable to speak our language.”
“But this transformation ability is limited by the Ditto’s perception in the moment. Ditto do not have a reliable enough memory to recreate those not standing in front of it, so any random transformation ends up flawed and noticeable. Laughter can also make them lose control and revert their forms back into their pudgy state. And while they can use the attacks of other Pokémon, Ditto can only manage to repeat their attacks a few times themselves before the type energy their body is trying to replicate gives out and becomes useless.”
