No One Without Another

Disorganization does not survive alone
Isolation goes nowhere on one foot

Mountains only shift because tectonic plates grind their teeth
Clouds only roll thanks to the wind beneath their wings

One rain drop does not muster a storm, it only precedes
One leaf does not fill a tree, it only suggests it could succeed

A voice does not echo off a crowd
The crowd chooses to echo the voice

A left brain and a right brain
Put the world at peace of mind

Doduo, the Twin Bird Pokémon

hand-drawn artwork

Doduo are the only surviving branch of another species, born from a sudden mutation that soon became the ideal form for the species to navigate a world of stronger and stronger Pokémon. They are one of the few species in the world composed of multiple consciousnesses in a single body. All Doduo are conjoined twins, two heads of their own identities sharing a body and a pair of legs they each control one of. Though they think independently, these two heads have a biological telepathy with one another that helps them communicate and navigate the world around them. They work together to battle, or to protect themselves in the wild, and simply to balance the weight of their body they hold split control over.
Most impressive is the Doduo’s speed. Both heads manage to balance their weight and cooperate as they run, hitting speeds up to sixty miles per hour and denting the dirt four inches deep they run on with their big feet. They can navigate themselves in any solid terrain, soft or sturdy, without being caught by any obstacles or traps thanks to both sets of eyes navigating their surroundings as they run. Despite the great strength and control with their feet, Doduo know no moves that utilize their legs in battle, avoiding to use them for anything other than their mobility.
