Dratini, the Dragon Pokémon
“For a long time it was believed Dragonite was a single-stage Pokémon of legend, due to its power and rarity. Then, several decades ago, the first Dratini were discovered and found to evolve into the Dragontie species; not too long after a massive pod of Dratini were found to live deeper in lake beds, and the title of mythical the Dratini line held made for the first pseudo-legendary identifier for some of our world’s most powerful Pokémon just below the title of true legendary.”
“As Dratini, this evolution line is still quite impressive. They are born big, with bodies at least six feet in length when they hatch. They have been sighted today mostly around rapid-moving bodies of water, such as waterfalls and rocky rivers, as the strong currents act as a protection for the Dratini to molt their skin. And they molt quite often; Dratini have a life energy in their bodies that replenishes and empowers them so much, they need to molt at least once a day to stay healthy. Their molted skin is actually quite valuable in the fashion market, as a few people hunt for them washed up by the rivers into certain lake beds and refashion them into shoes and carrier bags for a high price.”
