Man’s Best Friend
What transcends time and space faster
Leaps and bounds across culture and language further
Than unfaltering trust
In just one
Growlithe, the Puppy Pokémon and the Scout Pokémon

“Loyal to a fault for generations, Growlithe are quite the popular dog Pokémon in today’s society. The Puppy Pokémon is one of the easiest to train even as a new Pokémon Trainer, both in their strength and in forming a bond with them. Growlithe are known to fight to protect the lives of those they trust and live with, facing foes larger and stronger than them to save those they care about. Otherwise, they will only move, act and attack at their own trainer’s commands and no one else; every new person they meet, even those the trainers may already know, have to earn a Growlithe’s respect and require their trainer’s reassurance before they can spend time together.”
“As a wild Pokémon, nothing about this behavior really changes. They protect their territory with the same level of commitment and stand up for their pack in the face of overwhelming odds all the same. Their keen sense of smell allows the Growlithe to retain a memory of their surroundings, even when separated from their compatriots for a long time. This was true even of the Pokémon’s ancestors from the region of Hisui, known today as Sinnoh, whose fur grew tough with stone-like properties but as a species were nonetheless committed to those they trusted and helped people back in the day navigate the land after forming a trust with the wild Growlithe of the region.”
