Nothing to Fear

Do you feel you live on the run?
Does fire lick at your heels?
Ice trailing your spine?
Are you outrunning the shadow of an endless night?
Desperate to stay in the light without rest?

Everyone does, truthfully, one point or another
Stalked by the physical or intangible
The clock running them down
Always something hot on their trail
Stuck inside, as it pounds on their door

But this beast rarely feasts
Its fangs do not often taste flesh
For soon into the chase, men find their feet
Their legs, once made for running, find the strength to stand
They turn around and face the beast

When many men stand, they stand together
When they stand together, they make a wall
When they make a wall, fear stops putting people on the run
When men stop running, the world doesn’t stop spinning
And the world keeps spinning, and fear is proved wrong

Horsea, the Dragon Pokémon

hand-drawn artwork

Despite the Horsea’s size, these Pokémon are quite nimble and strong. Most of the time, this species makes their nests under coral in water with a slow, gentle current always running through, in an effort for themselves to live slow, peaceful lives. In the event they are caught in a strong current, Horsea will wrap their tails around rocks or other surfaces sticking out from the sea floor to keep themselves from washing away. With an impressively flexible pair of dorsal fins on their backs, Horsea can also ride the currents backwards with good balance, coordination and speed.
It is their ability to swim backwards that gives Horsea a means to defend themselves. In moments of danger, swimming backwards at high speeds gives them the ability to see their attackers and strike back, spitting ink or Water-type attacks from their mouths to blind or wound their opponents and make for a cleaner getaway. This is effective for both land and sea Pokémon attempting to do them harm, and with the ability to see behind them thanks to the position of their eyes on either side of their head, they can often avoid being caught from their blind spots.
