Be Careful, Little Birdie
I trust you, little birdie
To recognize the fire outside the forest
I’ve taught you all I can
Of the muddied land man made their home
I’ve warned you of the danger
Of their flying steel pelletsI trust you, little birdie
To navigate the unknown yourself
I searched for all I could
To answer the stars that crashed into cities
I answered all I could
To know where the water they spatter flowsI trust you, little birdie
To protect yourself from the falling sky
I built this nest for you
For everyone needs a place to rest
I will protect this home until you do
For this will be the one tree they can’t chop down.
Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon

“Pidgey are quite docile compared to other bird Pokémon species. Like the Squirtle or its prey of the Caterpie, the Tiny Bird Pokémon’s battle attitude is more reactionary and defensive than instigative and offensive. Thanks to a powerful pair of wings even in their youth, Pidgey can kick up winds and sizable clouds of dirt that aggravate their assailants and provide them a window of escape. If backed into a corner, they do still have their sharp talons and beak to harm their enemies, though the species will always respond to its ‘flight’ instincts before accepting its ‘fight’ instincts.”
“They are also very intelligent creatures. Pidgey often stick close to the ground to hunt Caterpie and Weedle for food, stalking in the grass and using their wings to topple over either Bug Pokémon once they’re spotted. Their memory is also quite impressive, as Pidgey are able to remember and return to the locations of their nest without much trouble, no matter the distance within the same region; this is true for both wild and domesticated Pidgey, as their memory manages to constantly create a path backward from their starting location and recognize the cardinal directions and geographical landmarks to follow while in the air.”
