Pinsir, the Stag Beetle Pokémon

“Pinsir are strong Bug Pokémon. With a pair of pincers atop their head - also referred to as horns or even antlers in some corners of the world - that are decorated in thorns, this Pokémon can lift prey and foes twice its weight and tear them apart with a crushing grip. If the force can’t break through their prey’s defenses, the Pinsir will thrash around and swing their trapper prey instead, bashing them against other surfaces to weaken them some more until their own strength can finish the job. Given they can crush a log between their pincers with relative ease, there are very little known Pokémon who can survive a Pinsir’s first attempt to crush them. Most species avoid this by weaponizing this Pokémon’s greatest weakness; the cold. Pinsir struggle to move their bodies even in environments even ten degrees below room temperature, as their limbs and pincers lock up. It is rare for a Pinsir to live close to any natural environment of these temperatures, but if an Ice-type Pokémon were to cool the air in battle, Pinsir will attempt to dig into the dirt or hide atop trees to avoid being targeted in their weakest moments.”

“Despite their aggressive and brutish nature in battle, all Pinsir really dreams about is taking to the skies. For generations Pinsir have been growing wings beneath the shells of their backs, though they’ve remained dormant and unable to use for most of recorded history. But with the powers of Mega Evolution, the Mega energy empowers their dormant wings and accelerates their growth in battle, giving the Pinsir the chance to fly. Though they are meant for fighting, as trainers who achieve the right and control over Mega Evolution pursue it in a battling career, the chance to fly fills many Pinsir with elation, and they will often be lost in glee soaring through the air until they are tired, even ignoring their trainer’s orders until their emotions have leveled out.”
