Rat Pack

Rat pack, the lot
Scurrying in droves
Dirt all over their paws
Yet their teeth make for our skin
Gnaw down our doors
Take what’s ours
And they tell us they’re here to fight an infestation
All for their rat king
No more than hind ends sewn together

Rattata, the Mouse Pokémon

“Rattata are persistent little creatures. They live in packs of up to forty of their kind, and there is almost no civilized corner in every region that they can be found in where they won’t be found. Wild Rattata spend their lives chasing food, be it stealing from people and Pokémon or salvaging scraps in trash to survive off; many times, their nests can be found not too far from institutions that either produce or distribute food. And while not necessarily violent, many people are cautious to approach them thanks to the species’ powerful incisors. A Rattata’s fangs grow endlessly, so the Mouse Pokémon constantly trim their teeth on bark to chip them down harmlessly. Even still, they hold the power to shred through wood better than many other species known to do so, and can easily pierce through the flesh of anyone who dares to attack them or simply gets too close for comfort.”

“The regional variant of Rattata found in Alola have quite the different attitude to their more populated version. The Alolan Rattata live in a pack that is less a family and more akin to the style of a human mob organization, as they all work for a single king Raticate, their evolutionary stage. They refuse to eat scraps and survive strictly on fresh products, and this decision has led to many businesses being broken into overnight for the packs of Alolan Rattata to clean out their shelves for food. They have proven themselves to be a far more dangerous species to towns and cities than their common counterpart, so much so that the Alola region imported various other species of Pokémon strictly to counteract the Rattata population and protect their towns from their infestations.”
