Tangela, the Vine Pokémon
“Tangela are another Pokémon of a mysterious identity. Their interior bodies are covered by a slew of seaweed-like vines, each covered in a fine hair, and they never unfurl them from their body. They can snap off quite easily if grabbed, but the Tangela can regrow their vines within the day to keep themselves protected. While they can use their vines to grapple and throw opponents or rocks at their opponents, these Pokémon can also use them defensively; by shaking and swirling their vines around their body, they can unsettle and dizzy their attackers, giving them an opening to respond. And with the short hairs covering each vine, Tangela can also tickle their opponents into submission.”
“Mankind has only recently found Tangela’s vines make for quite an ingredient. In certain regions of Galar, Tangela can be seen employed at restaurants, their vines broken off and broken down into spices and herbs. They add a refreshing and soothing sensation to the meals they are used with, and they’ve become quite popular on more expensive dishes at establishments to encourage sale of them. Even simply chopped into slices and cooked as a food themselves, Tangela’s vines have a savory flavor to them that seem quite popular with the average businessman as a snack at the end of their day.”
