Washed Up with the Tide
You can see them out the window,
Traveling in pods
Hunting,
They’re dangerous
Toxin on their fingertips,
Subduing their prey with ease
But they’re only strong in the pack,
Until the tide washes them away
Strand them on the shore, at our feet
Dried up under the direct sun,
All weak on their lonesome
Up to you, as person and people,

Tentacool, the Jellyfish Pokémon
“Tentacool are not proficient swimmers, so many pods of this Pokémon live in shallow waters and close to the shorelines and beaches of seaside towns. When the tide is low Tentacool end up stranded on the beach, and their bodies dry up like parchment in the sun, requiring them to be returned to the sea as quickly as possible so as to not die of these circumstances. A Tentacool’s body is mostly water, over ninety percent in fact, which at least gives the Pokémon ample time to hold out until help can arrive. Many marine research centers have crews employed specifically to save pods of Tentacool when the tide is low.”
“That does not mean a Tentacool is weak. The Jellyfish Pokémon carries a poison in its body, making up the remainder of the Pokémon’s body not made of water, and they disperse these through the ends of their two feelers. Though this poison is not toxic enough to kill, it is enough to weaken and even paralyze enemies and prey for it to sink its teeth into. And from the orb on its forehead and its crystal-like eyes, they can fire weak Psychic-energy beams to handle enemies who are immune to their poison. It is advised only trained professionals and seasoned Pokémon Trainers approach these Pokémon to avoid falling prey to their attacks.”
